December Pics

I'm still keeping busy as we draw closer and closer to Christmas. Here are two angels from this past weekend. These little ones had the most amazing eyes and were such good sports letting me follow them around with the camera.
God Bless!

Fall Family Portraits

I just really liked this one

and here's everyone smiling :-)

Some portraits I did over the weekend of one of my friends and her family. Such adorable kids that had me cracking up with their goldfish snacking in between shots. It was my first visit to this side of Frick Park, Pittsburgh and a beautiful park it is (when you're not lost on a mountain bike- long story).

Fall Pictures!

Some friends asked me to do a family portrait for them this morning. Jen found the perfect spot and with the leaves changing, it was just a beautiful place. The only drawback was that we weren't really expecting to go from temps in the 70s one day to this morning temps being in the 40s or 50s. It was a bit chilly!

The Birthday Boy

I finally got around to getting some pictures of my 3 yr old. It was quick as the sessions have to be when I try to take pictures with both kids and we were on our way to the playground. I've seen this rock on many walks and thought it would be great for some pics. Well, that would be the case if you have a child that likes to climb on things. Caleb is not that kind of a kid. He's surprisingly aware of his own safety and thought his mommy was crazy for trying to put him up and encourage him to sit on this big rock. I only managed to snap a few shots before he very adamantly insisted that he get down. Sadie on the other hand, loved being on the rock and figured out how to slide down it. What can I say- 2 very different children. :-)

more pics to come

More Session Pics

Just had to post a few of the kids pics :-) They were just too cute!

August update

Can't believe summer is coming to an end. This has definitely been the busier half for me. I've spent lots of time working on my pics from the beach- my first time really shooting at the beach was a little challenging because of the bright sunshine and reflective sand. But I think I've managed to come home with some nice shots.

This weekend I was finally able to get together with a family I've been trying to schedule since June. 10 people, 4 children and 6 adults. My biggest group outside of my own family and it went well. The kids were wonderful and so cooperative and patient (most of the time) :-) They were so good and smiling and watching me so that we just needed to work on the baby- a 14 month old sweetheart.

Grandma and Grandpa were celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary.

What a really nice family and I feel blessed to have met them!

Ocean Beach, NJ

My first attempts at shooting on the beach. The lighting was so challenging but I think I managed to pull out some nice shots and I got to experiment with high key images as well.

It wasn't me

This is one I snapped at my niece's 2nd birthday party last weekend. It was hot and there was a playground nearby and Sadie was already tired. I thought she looked so cute! I have some more that I'm working on and should be posting soon.

I hope my dad doesn't look too scary in this. Sadie kept teasing him, acting like she was going to tackle him and then running away at the last minute.

Busy Days 2

haven't had a ton of time to keep up with the blog lately. i guess that's what happens in summer. if i'm not taking pictures or editing, then i'm getting ready for vacations and when that's done there's all the yardwork and of course you have to factor in some video game playing :-)

couldn't resist putting this one up. just love those blue eyes and curls. i can't believe i caught this smile at the end of a long day.

i've also been experimenting with textures to create some different effects.

check out my other site, jodi walsh photography to see more examples of what i've been up to lately.

Couple of new pics. We've been out in the backyard a lot lately and I've actually been able to sit with my camera and snap a few. These are a couple that I thought turned out nice. It's so hard to take pictures of your children when they won't look at you. ;-)

Prom

I was very excited to take my first set of pics with someone who was old enough to drive yet not a parent :-)

my cousin went to her first prom this past weekend and i offered to do some shots of her all dressed up. she looked so pretty and so grown up. i just had to put this up for all to see...or at least the few people out there who might look at this site :-)
