Christmas Mini in the Park

I have to say, I love being able to spend a morning with friends and come away with some beautiful images.  I've known this family for several years now.  We go to church together, we've been in small group together, our kids have grown from babies to toddlers to little kids together.  I love being able to not only offer my skills as a photographer but to be able to offer my friendship as well.

and these 2 little guys are so cute and such characters!  How can you not have fun walking around the park with them?!

Thank you M Family!

Newborn Session

 Twins!

It doesn't get much more exciting than that, especially if you're a photographer who loves the opportunity to work with babies (i.e. cuddle, snuggle and hold babies while also taking some pictures)

These two little ones were so sweet and mom and dad were so relaxed.  It was a really nice session and I look forward to many more of these.

Thank you R Family!

Engagement Session in Frick

An engagement session with Susan and Ken!

I've known Susan since college (she sang at my wedding) so when she contacted me to tell me she was engaged and interested in my photography skills, I was thrilled.

Susan and Ken love to take morning walks in Frick Park so it made perfect sense to take their engagement photos while on a walk through Frick, complete with puppy, Max.
Somehow I have a feeling that they don't necessarily do much rock climbing on their usual walks but I think the changing leaves in the background were worth it.
I'm so thrilled to have to opportunity to photograph their wedding in December.  She is just a beautiful person inside and out and they are so in love.
Congratulations Susan and Ken!

MOPS Raffle Winner!

Over the past few years I've been involved with a special organization, MOPS (Mothers of Preschoolers). As a mother of 2 kids who are only 14 mos apart in age, this group helped me in so many ways as I made my way through those early years as a mom. As my kids have gotten older and are now getting ready to start Kindergarten, I'm transitioning out of the group but I still try to support them in any way that I can. Just last month I was invited to give a little talk on how to take better pictures of your kids and in the fall I donated a photo session as they tried to raise money to continue their organization.

This family was the winner of the session and I love that I was able to share my gift with such a sweet family.

It just so happened that this little guy was turning 1! A perfect opportunity to get some pics of him and a nice family picture of them all.

Turning 5

Oh my goodness! What a ball of energy and such a smile! I got to photograph this little guy for his 5th birthday and while he was a little bit of a challenge, I still managed to catch that smile... even if there was a tongue sticking out in one or two shots :-)

I'm looking forward to seeing them again later this spring- little brother turns 2 and brand new baby is on the way too!

Thank you N family for a fun afternoon!

Snow Shots

I had one more brave girl willing to pose out in the snow last month and she was great! I had so much fun walking around Schenley and just enjoying the sunshine and snow (a great combination).

Sisters Three

February in Pittsburgh.... often gray, dreary, wet and cold not to mention boring if you're a photographer. After the bustle of Christmas, many people aren't thinking about family pictures and if they are, they're usually itching for spring time when everything is warm and sunny and colorful.

Well, this year I decided to prove that February in Pittsburgh is a great time to have portraits taken, especially outside! I just needed to get some models and these 3 sisters volunteered to go for a walk in Schenley Park and Mother Nature was kind enough to provide a fresh coating of snow and some sunshine for us :-)

So enjoy these images of these beautiful sisters!

Turning 1

2011 continues on and I'm managing to keep myself busy. This time of year is a little slow for photo sessions so I use the time to work on other business related stuff. I'm putting the finishing touches on my new website (debuting April 1, 2011) and getting myself organized (not one of my strengths).

I did get to meet up with a great little family who just moved to the area within the past year. We've actually been trying to get together for pictures since last fall but because of scheduling conflicts it took so long to finally get together.

And of course, we would have rain...

I was thankful that for the hour or so that we were together, the rain was little more than a drizzle and it gave me the opportunity to test out a new location...

such a loving family :-)

and look at the eyes on this little guy

Finally, thank you Florabella for the templates!

The Goose Turns 2!

Wow! I can't believe my cousin's little girl is 2. Leading up to our session, I was convinced that she was 3... a little bit of a brain freeze on my part :-)

And boy was she in her 2-yr-old glory. My camera was only just fast enough to catch her and she had us all on our toes trying to keep her smiling and content. I even had to enlist the help of my Sadie to charm the little Goose :-)

Such a beautiful little girl!

What a face!

And a sad little Steeler fan :-(

Thank you, Amy! I hope you enjoy these!

New Year, New Resolution!

Happy very belated New Years to you all! I have been so behind but had a wonderful Christmas with family and a bit of an extended vacation from photos. As much as I love, love, love what I do, it was so nice to not have deadlines to meet and to be able to just enjoy capturing my own family as they celebrated Christmas and New Years.

So a new year is a new beginning and to start this year (and my 3rd year in business) I'm making a photo resolution. I have sorely neglected this blog and my goal this year is to keep it more current with my sessions. I'm determined to get my sessions blogged in a timely fashion so that you all can keep an eye on what I'm up to.

So let's kick the year off with my first session. This was my first family snow session for this year and I loved it. There's something about being out in the snow both bundled and not :-)

And I couldn't resist including Barley in the pics!
